I have seen this somewhat a few times in the mailing lists.. but no concrete answer. I am using nessus-1.3.x.. and have consistent problems with FreeBSD and finding all the hosts that nmap finds with no problem. I have started running nmap and using the output to get around the problem but it's rather a pita.
THe symptom is that with ping on .. and running about 10hosts/10plugs ... it never sees past the second host .. and just misses from there. So I thinks tomyself.. self .. why is that? I checked.. bpf is sposta be dynamic to the number of devices I have in the device file .. and so I have 20 of those.. and still have the problem I have made sure the sysctl's are set so that i am not limiting anything. any suggestions would be greated with me not trying to hang myself using cat-5.
