By specifying the approriate extension.  Possible extensions are:

    Extension              Output Type
    ---------              -----------
    tex|latex              latex 
    txt|text               text
    nsr                    NSR
    html                   html
    html_pie|html_graph    html w/ graphics
    nbe                    NBE
    old-xml                XML (old format)
    xml                    XML
