While not directly on topic, this has piqued my interest.

Try scanning the router and make note of which plugin it crashes on...

Also, is it the latest firmware?  Generally, I think it's a good idea to try to keep 
nessus from bringing down the infrastructure.  What will it scan across otherwise?
