Plugins are written either in NASL (*.nasl and *.inc) or C (*.nes). NASL plugins are plain text files and can be viewed using more / less / your favourite editor; they're stored in the directory pointed to by plugins_folder in your nessusd.conf, typically /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins or /usr/lib/nessus/plugins. Plugins written in C are compiled so you can't necessarily view the source. If you've compiled Nessus from source, you can look under nessus-plugins/plugins/ in the source tree.
