I have successfully used Nessus for years on my home LAN although I haven't used it in probably six months or so. I recently upgraded from Redhat Linux 9 to Fedora on a couple of boxes and decided to install Nessus on one of them and give it another look. It works fine when I scan other Linux boxes - I get a full results set. But, when I scan a Win XP Pro box I get no results. I have tried a variety of scan options to no effect. I am not running a firewall on the XP box, and I have file sharing enabled, am running VNC, etc. I should get a pile of results.
I suspect I am doing something dumb, in which case dumbness is my excuse for bothering all of you. Any suggestions?
