We tried running the account_root_root plugin via Nessus installed on a RedHat 9 system and found that it did not work, eventhough it did work from Nessus installed on a RedHat 2.1 machine. This happened when scanning a Solaris system that had "root" for a root password and had root logins enabled everywhere. The strange part was that when I applied a patch to the _check_telnet function that I found in an old posting the script then worked, even though the patch was designed to fix a different problem.
