Hello, everyone. Until recently, I had SuSE 8.0 on my aging Compaq laptop, and have been running Nessus 1.2.x or 1.3.x on it for about a year, with a great deal of success. I recently blew away the old hard drive, and have now installed SuSE 9.0. With this new version, I thought I'd update Nessus while I was at it.
First, I pulled down the 2.0.9 installer script, ran it, satisfied a few missing dependencies, ran it again and everything seemed to go smoothly. nessusd starts, and the GUI connects just fine. However, when I run the scan, only one or two hosts are discovered on the local segment. The localhost always seems to be discovered, but all others are entirely hit and miss. So I uninstalled 2.0.9 and installed 2.0.7 from the SuSE 9.0 CDs. This version exhibits the exact same behaviour. Anyone know what might be wrong ? The hardware is the same as it always was (Compaq Armada 7800 w/Intel PCMCIA NIC) so I can only assume it is a problem with the software. We have some quarterly scans coming up, so I really need to get this working. Thanks, Stuart. _______________________________________________ Nessus mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.nessus.org/mailman/listinfo/nessus
