I am installing nessus for the first time onto Mandrake 9.2. I had a lot of trouble getting past the initial error of it not being able to find gtk and was going to install with the command line version only. After installing the glib and gtk, I had to get the information into the $PATH. After getting that resolved, when trying to install using the nessus-installer.sh feature, it stops, and the only error I can find is something about gtk/gtk.h not found.
I then tried installing from the tar files. When installing the nessus-libraries, I received a message about openssl not being available, but nothing else, and it installed ok. The libnasl installed ok. While installing the nessus-core I get the same error as above: Gcc –g -02 ‘sh ./cflags` -c xstuff .c Xstuff .c:32:21: gtk/gtk.h: No such file or directory
The gtk.h file is located under gtk+-1.2.9/gtk directory and is included in the $PATH.
Seems like the install is not able to find the openssl and gtk directorys while installing. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
