I have recently installed Nessus 2.0 on my Redhat Fedora server. In the past, I have never had a problem logging into any Nessus servers that I have built using the NessusWx Windows Client.
Now, I cannot login into the Nessus server and I receive the following information:
1. The client tells me that either my username or password is incorrect.
2. I have used nessus-adduser to add myself as a user.
3. I have followed instructions I found on this list, without any luck. I removed the /usr/local/var/nessus/users/<user_name>/auth/hash file and replaced it with a password file, using the correct password.
4. I receive the following message in the log file: [Mon Apr 12 10:46:41 2004][4835] Client requested protocol version 12.
[Mon Apr 12 10:46:41 2004][4835] bad login attempt from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike
