I work for the ITS departments at Pomona College. Currently I run nessus
scans of the entire student network periodically and targeted scans as
needed for individual machines. I would like to automate the scanning
process in such a way that I will always have a relatively up to date
picture of the state of the network. This feels like something that I should
be able to do with a detached nessus scan and the knowledge base, but I
haven't been able to find a good interface to it. Ideally what I would like
to have is a web interface that one can log into and see the details of the
most recent scan of any machine on the network. Additionally it would be
nice if through that interface they can have nessus scan a particular
machine if they want more up to date scan results. Does such a program (or
something similar I can adapt) already exist, or would I need to code
something from scratch do achieve this goal? As I said I think what I'm
really looking for is simply a web interface to the nessus knowledge base,
but I haven't been able to find one of those.
