Dear sir:
I have to a test for Nessus Scan on Winodws,when i give the login id and password for the target pc,the scan result include 11 windows missing patches.
The other test was test for Nessus scan on windows without give the login id and password for the target pc,the scan result include only 2 windows missing patches.
Why the result have a very big different? So,could you help me how to fix the problem?
Nessus uses your account name/pass to authenticate on the host and read settings from the registry. In this way it can identify missing patches since it is given privileged access on the host.
