I'm sorry, I should have asked you also to use a non-existent IP address
for the target; ie, one on your network but not currently assigned. 

Don't bother, though; I think this is a serious bug.  I just tried this
myself and observed nessusd hammering my nameserver - 66000+ queries in
a bit over 1 minute!!! Do you want to open up a bug report in Bugzilla
or should I?
