(1) After realizing just how terribly out of date the version of Nessus on Fink
was, I downloaded the installer script and installed the new version.
Everything went perfectly... except:

It compiled a command-line only version. After trying the various versions of
gtk available on Fink, I still was unable to get it to work. Am I alone in this
and make a stupid mistake, or is this a common problem?

(2) Assuming I have the newer version of nessusd compiled and running, is it of
fundamental importance to have the newer x-client as well, or can I get along
with the 1.x front-end with the brand new daemon?

(3) What impact, if any, does the fact that the Fink version of nmap is
likewise ancient (3.00)? I might be making a similarly stupid mistake in my
attempt to compile a new version of it as well, but assuming I'm not, is there
some feature required by Nessus from newer versions?

Thanks folks!

Cheers,
Jon-Erik Storm
