What version of Linux are you using?

I use mandrake so I use the mandrake gui to install SSL...

Try running this from the command line to install nessus.

Lynx -source http://install.nessus.org | sh

This is the simplest install.  Nessus will install if you do not have
SSL installed because I've done it.  You'll get errors when you try to
load some plugins but it will still function.

Let me know if your getting this far.
