Configuring a scan will vary greatly by environment and the goals you
have when using the tool. The best thing to do is read the documentation
then experiment on a small group of hosts (preferably non production)
until you get a feel for the product.

I am logged in to my linux server remotely, ssh -l root -p 222 -L

Also apart from remote connect across the internet how can I do this 
locally. Scan from a windows pc. I got the client can't configure if
