Launch NessusClient from a commandline in, say, a terminal window and
try again to connection. You should see a more detailed error message in
that window. Let me know what that is.

Hi George,
There is an improvement, after generating a new certificate I was able to connect and scan local machine. However, when I disconnect and try to reconnect again I get the (SSL error). Here is more details from the command line.

[1686] SSL_connect: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

I have to close the client and run it again to be able to connect to the server.

Regards
