"One" of the many ways that I am trying to manage the size of my nessus reports is to edit the comments of each vulnerability. For example: the SNMP string set to public vulnerability can be quite common. I want the vulnerability listed in the report but I do not need 22 lines of text to explain to me that public is bad. Not to mention the carriage returns in some of the nasls are not conducive to saving space. I had the bright idea to edit a mess of nasls in /opt/nessus/lib/nessus/plugins. However it appears the auto update overwrites these nasls. How do I prevent my edits from being overwritten. I apologize for my apparently elementary question.
