Maybe I have not noticed this before, but for some reason now I do
notice, nessus is slow.
I'm running it from a laptop, 1.4 PentiumM with 1 GB (ubuntu 7.04).
Nessus scan on 100+ hosts, (settings: 14 hosts x 6 tests = 84
active tests)
running into 100% CPU usage, and responding poor to any keyboard or
mouse input.
I'm getting the same slowlyness on a desktop with knoppix on it.
Don't recall this behaviour with previous versions of nessus.
Edit nessusd.conf and set be_nice to 'yes', then try again. By
default nessusd gives itself a higher priority, which degrades the
interactivity of a desktop system but decreases the risk of false
timeouts on a loaded system.
