It sounds like Jason's issue is connectivity whether it be firewall or not
having the proper ports open to connect to the scanner.

Bob your problems sounds like configuration that the whole scan is just
crashing. In which your case I would just roll back the plug-in upgrade.

Similar behavior here.  It was working yesterday.  Today I did a plugin
update (first in 6 days) after seeing your message, and now I get a Visual
Studio just-in-time debugger popup that scan.exe has crashed a few seconds
after starting a scan.  My scanning machine is Win/2K.  Even a scan with
only one plugin selected (Host FQDN) crashes.  Old and new clients both
fail.
