I did post an answer to this: http://mail.nessus.org/pipermail/nessus/2008-May/018754.html The intent is that classroom usage for teaching information security techniques and concepts can do so. An IT organization at a University would not be covered by this. > Is there an educational use license? There is no educational "license" but we will be providing details about how to obtain permission to use Nessus in a classroom environment. > Note this is not for training or teaching, its for scanning. If you are using this in production, for testing a network that is not home/personal in nature, you'd be required to use the new Professional license. > Also, if an organization has multiple people using Nessus, does each one > need a separate license or can they all use the same feed? The feeds are licensed per scanner, not per user. If you had one Nessus scanner, and multiple users running clients connecting to that scanner, you would need one feed. If you had multiple users with Nessus on their laptops, you'd need to license each laptop.
