Here is my problem. I'm running Nessus on a fresh install of Gentoo
Linux. I just get a fresh Registration Code but the results are the
same. When I run nessus-update-plugins, I get this error message.
Then after about 5 minutes, the download aborts.
./nessusd: /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8: no version information available
(required by ./nessusd)
./nessusd: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: no version information
available (required by ./nessusd)
Here is the output of nessusd -d
This is Nessus 3.2.1. [build A919] for Linux 2.6.18-4-686
compiled with gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)
Current setup :
flavor : debian4-x86
nasl : 3.2.1
libnessus : 3.2.1
SSL support : enabled
SSL is used for client / server communication
Running as euid : 1000
Magic hash: 49edd1433ffad7b87b446a4201faeedf -
Also I checked the nessus-fetch and got the same problem.
./nessus-fetch --check
./nessus-fetch: /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8: no version information
available (required by ./nessus-fetch)
./nessus-fetch: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: no version information
available (required by ./nessus-fetch)
nessus-fetch is properly configured to receive a Registered feed
The actual problem is the nessus-update-plugins aborts part way thru
the download. Indeed the md5 checks do NOT match.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks
Ron
