The British Library "Living Words" Website has
a number of projects that may be of interest to Social
Studies and English teachers. The projects make
use of the British Library's original source material
and include teacher information and activities for
students. Many of these projects have a high level of interactivity.

Click on curriculum projects to link to the following projects:

Medieval Realms

Useful for Social Studies 8 classes, students can
learn more about the lives of men and women during
the middle ages.

Mapping History

Targeted to students aged 7 to 14, students can examine
a number of maps from the British Library collection.
The associated background material and activities invite
students to look more closely at what the maps show and
what they represent.

Other projects include Changing Language: Beowulf to
Buzzwords, The Korean War: Evidence, Propaganda
and Perspective, and Exploring a Medieval Manuscript.

Thanks to John Goldsmith for sourcing this Nugget.
