Help from an ESL Teacher

Here is a picture dictionary on line that includes French.

http//www.pdictionary.com

Some good ESL web sites are...

http//thecity.sfsu.edu/~funweb/
http//www.eslcafe.com/
http//darkwing.uoregon.edu/~leslieob/pizzaz.html

Also, I have been using the Oxford Picture Dictionary for Kids with Audio
Tapes and Photocopiable pages and have found it very helpful. I don't know if
your school would be willing to invest, but that would be a good resource for
future ESL students.

Hi,

Thank you to everyone who responded to my Shakespeare post last week. Here are the

a quick
look to all of them, and it looks like there is a lot of great information here for
anyone who

BIG6 Cover Story in MultiMedia Schools:
Moving Every Child Ahead --The Big6 Success Strategy

"In far too many schools, the prospect of annual testing for all students in
grades 3 - 8 has needlessly paralyzed progress toward education reform and
technology integration. As schools circle the wagons to meet the challenge
of high stakes tests, fear-based responses often sacrifice the higher-order
thinking, project based learning approaches upon which successful uses of
technology depend, in favor of rote-learning. Our [MultiMedia Schools, May
2002] cover story features a proven strategy, which instead improves
performance by improving thinking, on the part of teachers and students
alike." Read more...

Just in case you haven't seen this article, one of our former list members,
Mark Miller, is taking Miller Brewing Company to court to prevent them from
taking his family's domain name - millertime.com... -ac

Millers Fight for Family Domain on Web

"It's Miller Time" is a popular slogan used by Miller Brewing Co. to market
its lager, but it was the Miller family of San Mateo County that had first
dibs on the phrase as an Internet domain. Repeated efforts by the Milwaukee
brewer to force the family to give up millertime.com have prompted Mark
Miller and his family to file a complaint against Miller Brewing in U.S.
District Court. The Millers want the court to block the National Arbitration
Forum from forcing them to give up the domain name. Miller Brewing holds a
trademark on the phrase "Miller Time."
