Ok, if I use:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ snmpset -v 2c -c public localhost:9999 
SELTASYS-MIB::office.\"Rodolfo\ Giometti\" = "Colognora"
   Error in packet.
   Reason: notWritable (that object does not support modification)
   Failed object: SELTASYS-MIB::office."Rodolfo Giometti"

it works! :) And a message is sent from the client to the server.

Now I have to understand why the server answers like this... but this
is another problem.
