But these defaults are in the library, so it affects anyone who uses a library.
Someone with an asynchronous app polling 1,000 devices could be using quite a
few sockets (depending on how the app is coded).

Again, I think the applications (snmpd, snmptrapd) should explicitly request a
larger buffer, but leave the defaults to the OS.
