An existing snmp daemon, or some other daemon to which you added agentx support? I'm guessing it previously didn't have any snmp support, which means you've added in several new libraries. The size jump isn't surprising. SA> This changed my daemon size 10 times. I am going to SA> play with configure script to remove debug ...but i SA> was wondering if someone else ran into this issue. You can try stripping the executable to make it smaller, but that doesn't change the text size. Unfortunately, the library code has to support the full feature set, and maintain backwards compatibility. I've always thought it would be nice to offer an option for a 'minimal' compile, excluding old api's and features. But I've never had time to try and do it. You can have multiple builds with different options on the same system, from the same source code. I have half a dozen build (different releases, different options). You just install them to different places, or just link them in statically. -- Robert Story; NET-SNMP Junkie Support: <http://www.net-snmp.org/> <irc://irc.freenode.net/#net-snmp> Archive: <http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum=net-snmp-coders> You are lost in a twisty maze of little standards, all different. ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
