Dears,
I'm a guy who just begin to learn SNMP on debian. I have a question about the command "snmpget". What the command I typed is
"snmpget -c public localhost system.sysDescr.0"
However, it always shows me "snmpget: No securityName specified".
I checked the manu but have no ideal how to specify security name in command. My snmpd.conf setting is as follow:
###########################################################################
# SECTION: Access Control Setup
#
# This section defines who is allowed to talk to your running
# snmp agent.
# SECTION: Access Control Setup

# rocommunity: a SNMPv1/SNMPv2c read-only access community name
# arguments: community [default|hostname|network/bits] [oid]
# arguments: community [default|hostname|network/bits] [oid]
rocommunity public
# rwcommunity: a SNMPv1/SNMPv2c read-write access community name
# arguments: community [default|hostname|network/bits] [oid]
# arguments: community [default|hostname|network/bits] [oid]
rwcommunity public2
# sec.name source community
com2sec paranoid default public2
com2sec paranoid default public2
This is my question and could you tell me how to make it, please!!
Thanks a lot!!
Wishes and regards,
W.Moore
