SNMP agent is running in a managed device. I tried to discover the device through our NMS. During discover, sequebce of snmpgets will be made.. But the request timed out message is displayed. When I tried to get the values using MIB Browser, I am able to retrieve the values from the same managed device.. But I am not able to set the values for that device through MIB Browser.. "Request Failed: Error: Request Timed Out to
198.162.9.1" is displayed . I suspected that whether write community may be wrong.. But due to security purpose, I cannot view the write community.. Could anyone pls let me know why I am not able to set the values...
One problem may be due to write community. I would like to know whether will there be any other issues which will make the set request to fail??
One more information is for the snmpset through mib browser, I captured the packets using ethereal.. PDU Response packets are not recieved from the snmp agent.. Only the packet related to SET Request is displayed..
