The SMI version used to define the MIB object structure, and the SNMP version used to retrieve the values of these objects are (almost) completely independent. A MIB written in SMIv2 can be used with either SNMPv2c or SNMPv3. It can also be used with SNMPv1 (with a few minor exceptions - mostm obviously Counter64 syntax objects). You should not need to change the MIB file at all.
