Dave,
I was looking at linking the ifXTable ifLinkUpDownTrapEnabled object to the
code that actually implements the monitoring (currently the object doesn't do
anything). I see that some of the necessary stuff is created at startup (in new
event code). I was wondering how easy/hard it would be for you to throw
together a simple api to toggle the status of the trap for a given interface.
I was planing on ignoring the potential conflict between a snmpd.conf
directive and a change via the MIB. i.e. snmpd.conf is used at startup, the
MIB can toggle during runtime but doesn't keep persistent state.

You are lost in a twisty maze of little standards, all different.
