Hi,
I configured users with authentication and encryption password having special
characters such as \ (back slash), ' (single quote), " (double quote) , #(ash)
. While agent is restarted following errors are coming.
/data/ALAsm/SNMP/data/snmpTrap.conf: line 3: Error: snmpd: failed to parse this
line or the remote trap receiver is down. Possible cause:
snmpd: snmpd_parse_config_trapsess(): Unknown host (ddddddddddddddddddddddd)
(No such file or directory)
NET-SNMP version 5.3.0.1
Received TERM or STOP signal... shutting down...
/data/ALAsm/SNMP/data/snmpd.conf: line 43: Error: Unknown privacy protocol
net-snmp: 1 error(s) in config file(s)
we restricted special characters #(used for comments) and space for auth and
encryption password.
I am not sure what are all the special characters that need to be restricted ?
If '(single quote) and " (double quote) are used as first characters of the
password - above parse error is coming.
If \(back slash) is used as last character - parse error is coming.
Please help me in solving this problem.
