I'm much in favor of documenting the rewrite in README.agent-mibs even if it's not enabled by default. Otherwise, where else would this be documented? If the old code already uses the best name, I'd be fine with renaming the old code. Otherwise, let's find the best name and use it for the rewrite. E.g.
