I could see the forward_handler in Snmptrapd.
But seems it is not getting called. 
Do I need to enable/configure anything in snmptrapd to do so?

Snmptrapd already have support for trap forwarding, see the function
forward_handler in apps/snmptrapd_handlers.c, so I think you should just
copy that and add your objects.
