Hi all, I am using net-snmp 5.4.2.1, and found a strange behavior with net-snmp (snmpd).
For SNMPv3 if I specify authentication key or privacy key as sequence of same character, such as 22222222 or tttttttttt, then it is unable to differentiate between the password and any sequence greater than this password. Such as for ttttttttt, I can use tttttttttttttttttttttt or ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt, everything works. Any idea on this ?? Did we have fix any bug like that: Here are the example of this: #snmpget -v3 -u taruns123456 -a MD5 -A ttttttttttt -l authpriv -x DES -X datadomain localhost sysLocation.0 SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: taruns !!!! dd565-7 YOUR DATA IS IN DANGER !!!! # snmpget -v3 -u taruns123456 -a MD5 -A ttttttttttttttt -l authpriv -x DES -X datadomain localhost sysLocation.0 SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: taruns Regards, Tarun Kumar (408)-986-4115
