Net-SNMP builds fine here on F15 without perl/NetSNMP.xs. The "make -C perl
test" output is consistent with what I see on other Linux distros:
[ ... ]
t/async.t ..... All 20 subtests passed
t/bulkwalk.t .. ok
t/conf.t ...... ok
t/get.t ....... ok
t/getnext.t ... ok
t/mib.t ....... 1/35 STORE(SNMP::MIB=HASH(0x8c50258) atNetAddress
HASH(0x8c6f410)) : write access to the MIB not implemented
Use of uninitialized value $res in string eq at t/mib.t line 80.
# Failed test 11 in t/mib.t at line 80
#  t/mib.t line 80 is: ok($res eq 'NETADDR');
# Failed test 14 in t/mib.t at line 95
#  t/mib.t line 95 is: ok(defined($des));
# Failed test 15 in t/mib.t at line 101
#  t/mib.t line 101 is: ok(ref($res) eq "HASH");
t/mib.t ....... Failed 3/35 subtests
t/mibload.t ... ok
t/notify.t .... ok
t/session.t ... ok
t/set.t ....... ok   snmp_build: unknown failure
