I think there are two problems.
* The libtool bug
This one is addressed by updating libtool, I do not like the
idea of just patching ltmain.sh since autoreconf might overwrite
that change, so I think we should either expand the libtool
patch to include this fix or upgrade libtool.
* The perl rpath problem
This problem is in our makefiles and thus I think Bart's last
patch is ok if it solves Jan's problem.
