RE: no response

My localhost is configured. The local loopback is there when I run ifconfig. I also tried 127.0.0.1 in the snmpwalk command. That gave me the same error. I can ping both localhost and 127.0.0.1, but can't get a response when I use them in the snmpwalk (or get, or set) command.

Sometimes, the localhost is not configured. You can run ifconfig on unix to see if local loopback is there. If it's not use ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1

That's what fixed it for me.
