I had ethereal running during the testing. And yes, I
did see the linkDown trap message received by the
destination terminal for the traps.

  Wherever you put your 'snmpd.conf' settings,
 that's
the place to create 'snmptrapd.conf' as well.>

So, should I just create this new file wth the same
contents as the file that I am using right now (i.e.
the one in /var/net-snmp)?

LOL. I understand, although how something can just
stop working after a while just puzzles me.
