Thanks for your numerous answers. I had many other things to do in the
meantime, thus the delay.

I'm sorry that I can't try to compile the current CVS version of
net-snmp or any patch. We're using Debian here and since this particular
snmpd instance is running on our firewall I don't like to experiment
around with compiling and so on. Currently I'm using version 5.0.7 or so
which does the job quite will. When the new 5.2 version is out and
Debian packages provided I'll give it a try and tell you if it works.
