The rmon code in the agent uses the old-api, so it might work with older
releases. Some of the rmon code has been around a while (alarm,event) I think
should be available int 4.2.3. Other parts are newer, and might depend on newer
function calls.

You'll just have to copy them over and give it a whirl to see if it works.
