[ Sorry for the delay in picking up on this again ] >>> I would like to send trap to NNM when the number of processes >>> (e.g.ssh) is more than 3, >>> but it doesn't send.
>> Try starting the agent using >> snmpd -f -Le -d >> What do you see? > I can't see anything.... You should see dumps of all packets output by the agent (in the 'snmpd' window, not NNM). There should be one when the agent starts up, another when the agent shuts down, plus any traffic as a result of queries to the agent. I was really asking whether you see anything generated when the agent is running (but nothing is querying it), and you deliberately start up 3 or 4 "ssh" processes. > ....but when I stop the agent I can see in > NNM received event type .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.4.0.2 OK - so the agent probably *is* managing to send traps successfully. Which would tend to indicate that it's not trying to send a trap when you think it should be. What "monitor" (or similar) entries do you have in the snmpd.conf file? Note that "proc" will *not* automatically generate traps. See the FAQ entry "What traps are sent by the agent?", and the DISMAN-EVENT-MIB section in snmpd.conf(5) Dave ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
