And you are sure you don't have two versions install (like a rpm version with
libraries in /usr/lib and a version from source with libraries in
/usr/local/lib)?

My simple test subagent (from the tutorial) works fine with 5.2 cvs (which is
pretty close to 5.2).

If you run both the master and subagent with debug (in particular, the 'agentx'
token), do you see the subagent connect and register objects? Does the periodic
ping (deafult = every 15 seconds) work?
