snmpd using alot of cpu

I hope this is a question that is well known but I haven’t been able to find anything on it searching.   I’ve recently installed RedHat Liniux ES 4.0 on two machines and am using the included 5.1.2 rpm from the disks.  I’m finding that snmpd is taking up about 96% of the CPU on both machines (different hardware.) I’ve run snmpconf –i and removed everything and only added a snmp v1/2 community string with unlimited read access to a class B.  I’ve added the location and contact.  That’s it. I tried to make it as basic and open as I could and snmpd is still running away with the cpu?  This seems like a pretty cookie cutter installation at this point.   Snmpd.conf looks like this rocommunity  community 10.10.0.0/16 syslocation  "5th Floor Server Room" syscontact  [EMAIL PROTECTED]   That’s it.  Any help or direction would be very much appreciated.   I’m also using Solarwinds to monitor this.   Thanks.
