This is a question better suited for the development community of net-snmp
Although testing the functionality of packages posted on aixpdslib is

Hello ,
As the AIX5.2 package(both source and binary) from your website will arise
Segmentation fault error.
So I follow your instruction to download and install the binary tar ball for
AIX 5.1, it works. But I can not get the HostInformation from the netsnmp while
I
can get it by Redhat9 default Netsnmp.
In Redhat9 default Netsnmp, we can get
SystemName,PhyMemSize,AllocatedStorageSize,UsedStorageSize,Volume Size and
Volume FreeSpace etc. While by NetSnmp5.2 on AIX5.2, we can only get
SystemName.
From the interface of Netsnmp we do can get all the above information,
also the netsnmp on Redhat 9 can get them.
The configuration in snmpd.conf on Redhat and AIX are the same. why the
result is so different?

Subject: Re: Segmentation fault for NetSnmp on AIX5.2
Hello,
Could you please clarify whether you are have downloaded the binaries or
the source code from our website ?
There is a problem with the source tar balls for AIX 5.2 and 5.3 on our
website. Until we replace them, if you need to download the source, please
download the source tar ball for AIX 5.1 or 4.3 as they contain the same
package.
If you are only installing the binaries, and are having problems with our
binary tar ball for AIX 5.2, please try installing the binary tar ball for
AIX 5.1 as that one has been tested to work on 5.2 also.
We apologize for the confusion. Please let us know if you have a
successful installation.
Thank you,
The PDSLIB staff.

Hi All:
I have downloaded the NetSnmp installation package for AIX from :
http://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/packages/net-snmp.html
I install it to my AIX5.2 system, it is success with no error.
But when I stop the AIX default snmp and try to start the netsnmp.
The netsnmp can not be started wtith the following error:

bash-2.05b# /usr/local/sbin/snmptrapd

I have pay attention to the hint
on:http://www.net-snmp.com/docs/README.aix.html/
I recompile the souce code with ./configure --disable-shared
and fixing the quoting problem of net-snmp-config.h, Still I get the
same error.
Is there any other ways or do I miss something?
