Hi All,

I am running net-snmp version 5.0.10.1 on Solaris 8, but for some reason I am not able to perform snmpget/snmpwalk on anything under HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.  It gave me this kind of error:
        Error in packet
        Reason: (nosuchname) There is no such variable in this MIB.
        Failed Object: HOST-RESOURCE-MIB::hrSystemDate

I could perform snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost system (MIB-II information) without any problem.  I followed the instruction in README.solaris (section 7, page 7) to configure net-snmp daemon with subtree 1.3.6.1.2.1.25 (HOST-RESOURCES-MIB) in /etc/snmp/conf and restart both daemons S77snmpdx and S76dmi.  I also followed the instruction in the FAQ to add this MIB (MIBS=+HOST-RESOURCES-MIB).  Dave Shield mentioned that my error is about the remote agent is saying 'No', but I am not sure what else I missed.  Could it be that my net-snmp daemon with subtree 1.3.6.1.2.1.25 is not start up properly?  If so, is there a command that I could verify if this daemon is in fact running properly?  When I perform " ps -ef | grep snm " and I get

        /usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx/ -y -c /etc/snmp/conf

I put the net-snmp daemon (net-snmp.reg and net-snmp.rsrc) in /etc/snmp/conf so I assume all the daemons in this folder will be executed, but I don't know how to verify.

Another possibility is I need a newer version of net-snmp like 5.2.2 or 5.3?  Thanks in advance for your help.
