There was a major re-working of the agent trap handling shortly before the 5.1 line was spun off, so I'm not too surprised if various things were fixed at this point. > While browsing the list of bugs submitted on net-snmp I have found > that the same problem is already described... > But its status is still 'open' whereas it seems to be resolved now. I note that Thomas has now updated this. I keep intending to try and blitz some of the older bugs, as I'm sure many of them are now fixed. I just wish there was a sensible way to dump them for off-line working. > Is it possible to know from which version of net-snmp it has been > fixed ? My *guess* is that this was probably fixed by revision 5.5 of agent/snmp_trap.c: Re-written internals of agent trap generation. Work with separate v1 and v2 template PDUs, and separate (standalone) routines to convert between them, following RFC 2576. Hopefully a somewhat cleaner approach than before, So I would half-expect this bug to have been fixed in 5.1. There's certainly nothing else in the later 5.1-line changes that looks relevant. But that is a guess, and I don't really have the time to investigate such ancient code in any great detail. (The 5.1 line has been out for over two years now!) Given the scale of this revision, it would not have been appropriate to backport it to the 5.0 line. If it's fixed in 5.1, I'm pretty sure it'll be fixed in 5.3 and 5.3 as well. So our advice to you is to upgrade. Dave ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
