This is one of those things that should be possible but isn't...

The best I can offer is -Oq which does get rid of them but then puts
the hex in a "" set.  Adding -Ov will get down to just the value too:

snmpgetnext lh mteEventActions
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteEventActions.\"_snmpd\".\'_linkDown\' = BITS: 80 
notification(0)

snmpgetnext -Oq lh mteEventActions
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteEventActions.\"_snmpd\".\'_linkDown\' "80 "

snmpgetnext -Oqv lh mteEventActions
"80 "
