gdb would be the best, since that definitely pinpoints
the exact point of failure. I seem to remember that
truss generates large volumes of data, which then take
some time to plough through.
That's better than nothing, but the more focussed the
error report, the more likely someone will be able to
respond sensibly.

It should be something as simple as:
$ gdb snmpd
<waffle, waffle>
gdb> run -DALL -f
<gibber, gibber, BANG!>
gdb> bt
<lots of meaningless but vital information>
It's that last stuff that we'd be interested in.
