Oh-oh! Many thanks.

However, after successfully applying all three 5.3.0.1 patches, make,
make install, and then starting snmpd, snmpgetnext rejects the same
returned OID as before. Rerunning snmpgetnext stepping from the top of
the mib also hit the same problem at the same place.

Checking that we're running a freshly compiled snmpd:
# which snmpd
/usr/local/sbin/snmpd
# ls -l /usr/local/sbin/snmpd
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root 1046 467894 Feb 24 11:52 /usr/local/sbin/snmpd

Incidentally, snmpgetnext _can_ step through the problem area, if given
an -On argument. (Yes, I should have tried that earlier.) It's just the
symbolic OID which chokes it.

It is late friday here. Thanks again for the patches. I'll gnaw some
more on this bone on monday.

Erik
