First Off, a disclaimer: I am new to using SNMP, I have been using it
via the cacti application to monitor my servers and switches.

Due to some problems im the Microsoft SNMP agent, I have switched my
windows 2003 server to the NET-SNMP agent, and it appears to be running
quite nicely. The problem is that for whatever reason, I cannot graph
any other data from my servers except the interface statistics. I would
like to be able to graph things like processor loads, partition
available space (disk space) logged in users and any other interesting
data that is available.

Since the interface data is being gathered and graphed I assume that the
NET-SNMP agent is working properly (an snmpwalk also generates many many
lines of data coming back). Because the agent appears to be working
correctly, I assume that Cacti is not looking for the proper values for
the items that I want to graph (I have been using their canned queries
and graphs) I am looking to find some way to know what values to feed
into the queries and graphs so that cacti can ingest them.

My question is, I am sure, Basic -- how do I translate this huge stream
of data into something human readable so I can say, "OK, this OID =
Processor load" I need to have cacti query this OID to pull that data.

Answers, pointers, links, sites or suggestions are all welcome

Thanks

TIM
